John's Land (Ladner's Freshet), Oil on Canvas, 36x84" Diptych

Commissioned to do a local scene; I spent a few days out in Ladner and Steveston walking along the pathways and enjoying the skies.  It was at the tip of the Reifel Bird Sanctuary when the lighting changed and the skies started to break that I saw the scene I wanted to paint.  The beauty of the freshet and the vastness of space inspired me to create the work above.
